My girlfriend bought a black 1996 Honda Civic VTI, she's one of the 1st of 10 original buyers of this model in the Phil's. But it's kinda mashed up! it needs a body job (the roof has rust which it the regular sickness of this model, the 4 doors has dents and some other parts as well, scratches all over),   interior...i mean, the works! Is it worth it to get it fixed and sell it? or just get it fixed and enjoy it??? Does anyone knows a good shop for all these repairs at a very reasonable price??? Please help!!! I want to schedule its repair before April 2010 '`coz i'll be going out of town...Smiley Thanx buddies!!!

there are always two sides in selling a car. selling it to buy a newer better car is always the most practical and best option. but there is one value that means to the owner the most that 2nd hand car vendors don't actually count. and that's the sentimental value of the car. from your question you said that your girlfriend is one of the first buyers of the civic ek. and if she's proud of that fact then i think the option is not to sell. i also own a 97 civic vti. although i bought it second hand, the car means a lot to me because it's my very first car. although it sometimes is a pain in the ass because of break downs and replacement, i still would not sell it because it means a lot to me. i'd rather restore it to the way it was back then than selling it which of course would cost me more in the long run. but i love my car. and the memories i had with that car will be very hard to let go.  Asian
