just putting up a counter argument to the argument that engine mods are useless in metro manila, or anywhere else for that matter.

yes. There are a lot of good car shops her from autoplus, to ERL to speedyfix to mention a few. But someone mentioned that if he had an M3, it would probobly go into DINAN for further tuning. If you have a civic, would you rather go to our reputable shops or in house tuners like Mugen, Nismo, Dinan, Rally Art etc?
This is my personal observation. A lot of my friends get their cars modified by people who have already established their names in the auto industry. But a lot of problems still arise after the modifications have been done. Noise here and there. Dami na squeeks sa mga pannels, not everything is in tip top condition. Balik ng balik mga auto nila kasi may problem sa timing or something. I know someone na after an engine transplant and transmission in an already nice japanese sedan with a very distinctive JDM look, muntik na nya ibenta after waiting for almost 1 year to have all the mods done because of all the problems it brought him

I see your point, But not everyone here has the money or willingness to spend time sending their car abroad to Mugen, Nismo, etc.
Plus all production cars pagtumatagal yan syempre magkakaproblema, magsqueak walang exmepted dyan. Maski stock magkakaproblema parin yan. Those who mod their cars, syempre magkaka squeak din kasi after the mod, what do they do with their car? Syempre nahataw na yan which puts stress on suspension components, etc. Squeaks and probs, it depends on how you take car of your car. Dapat maalaga ka para walang problema.

i think yung mga problem na lumalabas after all the modifications was done is kasama talga on modifying cars e, akala mo lang na sa mga states hindi nagkakaproblema etc etc pero sa totoo nagkakaproblema rin mga yun hindi lang mukha na meron kasi its really imposible na to fully modify an engine and not have a single problem with it
marami sa mga us companies started out with trial and error rin naman e same here like if yung car mo hindi pa sanay yung shop dun naturally magkakaproblema talga pero like its just a honda engine swap, madali nlng for other shops since snay na sila therefor hindi magkakaproblema....

OT: relax......
i have to agree w/ k.o.. even if bagong labas sa dealership nagkakaproblem din yan, not saying all to clear, some lang.
