Happiness is everyone's business.
Everyone looks forward to the weekend, or to the next long holiday because simply put, we all want to get away and pursue whatever it is that makes us happy. Work weeks are always tough; the demands of everyday life are never-ending, and we all seek to drive away from it all.
Each definition of happiness is different. Sometimes that means driving out with your crew for some fun in the sun, or on some great adventure. More often than not, joy is about visiting loved ones far away. For a few, it could be just about enjoying the road, whether for a bit of peace and quiet or with a great soundtrack coming through the stereo.
Where ever you're going, it's best if you have someone you can rely on. And on any journey, that partner is Bridgestone.
Many of us see cars as mere tools to get us where we need or want to go, and that's fine. But to the avid driver, it's more than that.
The automobile is no mere tool or appliance. Since its invention over one and a quarter centuries ago, the motor car has become the ultimate symbol of personal mobility. Much more than that, the automobile gives you -the driver- the power to choose to go wherever you need or want to go. It's freedom on four wheels.
But those wheels need something to connect you and your car to the road. And that's why tires are just as important, as they are the only means of giving you the freedom to drive wherever your heart desires.
When it comes to tires, Bridgestone is at the forefront of making driving better, safer, and even more exhilarating.
Bridgestone is not only the biggest tire brand from Japan, but they're also the world's largest automotive tire company. The company has nearly nine decades of history, showing the world that Japan's tires can be the best on the world stage through innovation.
Surprisingly, the beginnings of the brand had nothing to do with tires, as Bridgestone was founded by Shojiro Ishibashi. He got his start by developing rubber-soled socks to make work boots more comfortable for those that relied on them every day. In 1930, he ventured out to make their first tire, and to do it using purely Japanese technology at the time.
After the war and despite the challenges, Bridgestone restarted their drive to make tires better. In 1951, Bridgestone started producing rayon corded tires for greater durability and strength, followed by nylon corded tires in 1959.
In 1962 they opened their first technical center in Tokyo, and started work at developing even more advanced tires. 1967 saw the introduction of their first passenger car radial tire, the RD-10. This was followed by the Super Filler radial tire in 1978, and the launching of the Potenza line of tires in 1979.
The company expanded outside of Japan when they made their first major acquisition when they bought the Firestone tire brand in 1988, eventually pushing the brand to race again in the IndyCar series in 1995 after a nearly 2-decade hiatus. Since 1999, Firestone has become the sole tire supplier for the series.
In 1997 it was Bridgestone's turn to get into motorsport when they entered the Formula One World Championship as a tire supplier. The brand dominated the sport, with Bridgestone tires securing the most wins for 7 out of the 10 seasons since they started in F1. In 2007, Bridgestone became the sole tire supplier for four seasons, showcasing to the world that the brand's tires truly are at the top of the order.
Today's Bridgestone tires make full use of the company's nearly 9 decade-strong history of innovation. With billions upon billions of tires produced, decades of testing in all kinds of road and weather conditions all around the world, as well as successes in tire performance at the very top tiers of motorsport, Bridgestone has come to develop a line of tires to not only suit any need, but to be the absolute best.
For enhanced fuel economy, Bridgestone Ecopia is the answer. Ecopia tires can be fitted to anything from saloon cars to crossovers and are engineered to deliver optimal fuel economy. Bridgestone achieved this by reducing rolling resistance, all without sacrificing wet and dry handling as well as comfort.
If comfort and silence are your priorities, the kind you experience over long drives at speed, then Bridgestone Turanza will deliver. These tires are developed to provide exceptional levels of comfort, silence, and durability. The performance Turanza offers will make sure that you and your loved ones are safe and secure whether its the rainy season or summer.
Looking for something that suits your SUV, crossover or pick-up over a wide range of surfaces and weather conditions? If that's the case, then Dueler is the perfect match. Bridgestone developed Dueler to exhibit versatile performance and handling without sacrificing the smooth and comfortable ride we all look for.
And remember what we said about motorsport? Well, today's Potenza tires are the direct results of the many racing successes that Bridgestone has achieved. These tires are all about grip and providing driving thrills that only it can deliver.
We all go places. Sometimes it's because we need to. Sometimes it's because we want to. And that's what Bridgestone is all about.
If you're driving to get to school, to the office or to church, Bridgestone is there. If you're driving for pleasure like to the beach, to play a round of golf, or to visit family far and away, Bridgestone is there. If you're driving for the thrill and exhilaration of driving, Bridgestone is there.
Bridgestone, throughout their history, has shown the world that commitment excellence is their way forward, and they'll continue to anticipate trends and innovate to meet them. They drive to make motoring a safer, a more enjoyable, and a more exhilarating pursuit.
We all want a thrill-filled life, one of excitement and joy. And Bridgestone gets you there and drives your passion to experience the world.
