The prestigious Petron 2007 Car of the Year-Philippines Awards in cooperation with Automobile Association Philippines has come out with a list of nineteen (19) Special Awards to give out to automobile manufacturers in recognition of their special efforts to bring Philippine motoring to a higher level.

These 19 awards represent choices made by the 30-odd members of the Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) the organization behind the Petron 2007 COTY-Phils. Awards. The choices were made according to each members preference and then collated to come up with the following results.

In no particular order, the Special Awards are as follows, the AAP Best Road Safety Campaign which was won by Toyota Motors Philippines. The Standard Insurance Best Safety Package taken by the Volvo S80 T5, the Rockwell Land Best Interior Design bagged by the Nissan Teana and the Most Preferred Security Vehicle earned by the Chevrolet Suburban.

Honda's Jazz won the SpeedLab Tuner's Choice Award, while the Segafredo Zanetti Most Versatile Car went to the Mercedes Benz B B150. Bosch Best Technical Innovation easily went to the Audi TDi while the dream of the members, the Globe Media Dream Car was awarded to Subaru's Impreza WRX.
One runaway winner among the members choice is the Volvo C30 which bagged the Concept One Sexiest Car special award and the Audi Q7 was given the Manila Jockey Club Best Exterior Design.

In terms of business ventures and possibilities, the Isuzu Sportivo won the Best for Business Vehicle and when talking about comfort, the Mercedes Benz S350 won the Bridgestone Most Comfortable Ride special award.

Always having a great ear for what people need, the Mitsubishi Outlander won the Bosch Best In-Car Entertainment System and again, the Honda won when the Jazz 1.3 CVT captured the Standard Insurance Best Value for Money.

And the Mitsubishi Strada garnered the most votes as the Best Looking Utility Vehicle. Without a doubt, Hyundai also won the Best Marketing Campaign while all agreed that the Best (and most exciting) Media Event has to be Toyota's Road Trek, while in terms of the Concept One Best Media Launch, Isuzu will be taking home the bacon for their Metal to the Pedal launch of the D-Max. And finally, Ford Ranger's 4x4 easily took the last special award, the Bridgestone Best Off-Road Vehicle.

The awards night for the Petron 2007 Car of the Year Awards-Phils will be on Thursday, November 15 2007 at the Rockwell Tent, where the car of the year will be announced and awarded.
