At the New York International Auto Show, Subaru the latest generation of their venerable compact car, the Impreza. The 4th generation Impreza, now gets a bold new look as well as an all new powertrain, combining for a claimed fuel efficiency improvement of up to 30 percent compared to the outgoing model.
The all new Subaru Impreza is powered by an all-new 148 hp 2 liter Boxer engine, and comes with a choice of a five-speed manual transmission or a second-generation Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission).
The 2012 Impreza will offer what Subaru claims to be the highest fuel economy of any all-wheel drive car currently in the United States, with projected fuel economy (EPA) of 11.5 km/l city and 15.3 km/l on the highway. Every 4th generation Impreza, in typical Subaru fashion, will be equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard.
