BMW has just launched the most powerful X1 yet at the New York International Auto Show with the new X1 xDrive35i.
The new version of the X1 gets serious with a new heart: the 3.0 liter inline-6 with twin turbochargers that can produce 306 horsepower. The same engine can be found in other models like the BMW 335i... the most powerful 3-Series that isn't an M3.
The intelligent all-wheel drive of the BMW X1 xDrive35i varies the distribution of drive between the front and rear wheels, as required. The X1 xDrive35i will be offered exclusively in the US market.
Unusually, the New York Auto Show marks the U.S. launch of BMW X1 line up (produced in Leipzig) having been on sale in other markets since 2009.
