2014 Honda Civic Coupe makes global reveal at SEMA

Updated Civic Coupe makes global reveal with HPD Honda CR-Z

Honda revealed the updated Civic Coupe at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The updated Civic Coupe features significant exterior styling updates amidst lackluster sales performance of the ninth generation release. Last year, the sedan received an emergency facelift at the LA Auto Show; only a year after it debuted in the US market. The Japanese automaker also announced performance increases and larger wheels and tires for its Civic Si, for both coupe and sedan variants.

"With the further advancement of the 2014 Civic Coupe and Si models and an exciting path forward for performance parts drawing on our racing experience we are making a statement about our commitment to the fun to drive character of the Honda brand", said John Mendel, executive vice president auto sales for American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

Exterior changes for the Honda Civic Coupe and Coupe Si include a more aggressive grill, hood, front fenders, new headlights, new taillight lenses, sportier front and rear bumpers, new side mirrors and new wheel designs. Basically, Honda is bringing back the excitement the Civic Coupe used to have. In addition, the Si will get an inch-up for the wheels and tires (18-inch) and power output is now rated at 205hp and 174 lb-ft of torque (gain of 4 hp and 4 lb-ft), thanks to a retuned exhaust system.

HPD Honda CR-Z

HPD’s first project, the CR-Z sport hybrid coupe was displayed with its new Street Performance Accessories package at the show.
