After releasing a teaser image of their second-generation R8 supercar, Audi has now released a video that shows the all-new R8 being tested on an undisclosed track.

Filmed during the car's prototype stage, it has a camouflaged finish but Heinz Hollerweger, Managing Director of quattro GmbH, described the new R8 of having a unique wide and flat design which makes the car aerodynamic.

The prototype R8 was driven by Audi factory driver Frank Stippler who reveals that the new R8 is powered by a 'V10 +' engine that generates 610 PS along with 560 Nm of torque.

“No engine is better suited to this car than the 10 cylinder naturally aspirated engine”, added Hollerweger.

It will be making its global debut next month during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
