Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the exclusive distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, has previewed the 2015 i20 Cross Sport during the inauguration of the company’s new eco-friendly Logistic Center in Calamba, Laguna.
According to HARI, the i20 Cross Sport is designed to cater "active" and "adventurous" individuals. Dimension-wise, the vehicle measures 3995mm long, 1760 wide and 1525mm tall with a wheelbase of 2570mm.
The exterior of the 2015 i20 Cross Sport features Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Up front, it is fitted with sharp-looking projector headlights, an aggressive hexagonal grill, a large two-tone bumper and a sculpted hood.
When viewed from the side, you can see the i20 Cross Sport’s roof rails, door moldings and roof-mounted spoiler. In addition, the vehicle is characterized by a smooth flowing line that extends throughout the i20 Cross Sport’s body.
The rear of the 2015 i20 Cross Sport is equipped with distinctive taillights that wraps around the fenders. It also has a muscular bumper and the vehicle is finished off with 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the 2015 i20 Cross Sport is integrated with a multi-function steering wheel which enable the driver to control their phone and play music via bluetooth. The vehicle also has a seat configuration of 60:40 which allows the 2015 i20 Cross Sport to accommodate more luggage space.
Powering the 2015 i20 Cross Sport is powered either by a 1.4-liter Kappa Petrol engine rated at 100 PS and 133Nm or a 1.4-liter CRDi Diesel unit rated at 90 PS and 221 Nm. The CRDI version will be exclusively available with a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-liter Kappa Petrol engine will be available with either a five-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai added that the 2015 i20 Cross Sport is scheduled to be on sale during the second half of 2015.
