The 2015 Mitsubishi Triton/Strada pickup made its global debut today in Thailand. According to the Japanese automaker, the 2015 Triton was developed to be the 'Ultimate Sport Utility Truck' that combines a comfortable interior of a car along with the performance and reliability of a pickup.
Taking cues from the GR-HEV that originally debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, its exterior was designed to look muscular, sleek and dynamic. Its front-end features an all-new grill and a new headlight design with LED lights integrated. The side of the car has curvaceous lines while the rear displays distinctive taillights. It is available in Single Cab, Double Cab and Club Cab variants.
No details were given by Mitsubishi about the interior but from the images given, some of the higher-end models will be fitted with a 7-inch infotainment display. It even has a rotary control for the drive system that is located at the center between the front seats.
Powering the 2015 Triton pickup are a range of engines which include a 2.4-liter gasoline engine that 128 PS and 194 Nm of torque, a new 2.4-liter MIVEC turbo diesel engine that is rated at 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque and two 2.5 turbo diesel engines that crank out 128 PS with 240 Nm and 178 PS with 400 Nm of torque. Transmission options are either a 5- or 6-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
