The 2015 Subaru Outback made its ASEAN debut during the 2014 Thailand International Motor Expo in Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok.
First previewed at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, the 2015 Outback features a rugged body shape. Up front, it has an hexagonal grill and an aggressive bumper that houses the fog lamps. The 2015 Outback also has sharp-looking headlights, an aluminum hood and muscular fenders.
Aside from the exterior enhancements, Subaru says the wind resistance of the 2015 Outback is better compared to the previous model. This was made possible by improving the airflow over the rear body of the vehicle. Subaru claims that the improved airflow contributes to reduced fuel consumption at high speeds.
Inside, the 2015 Outback features dual-dial gauge cluster with a three-dimensional effect. The interior is also equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel that comes with multifunction switches. Moreover, the interior materials have been carefully selected to “achieve a high level of quality.”
Under the hood, the engine units of the 2015 Outback Thai spec are similar with the US-spec model. The 2015 Outback 2.5i-S is equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine that delivers 176 PS with 236 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 3.6R variant comes with a 3.6-liter 6-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 260 PS and 345 Nm of torque.
