Audi Philippines premieres all-new A4
PGA Cars, Inc., the official distributor of Audi cars in the country, has officially revealed the all-new A4. According to the automaker, the new A4 (B9) is slightly bigger and lighter compared to the outgoing B8 platform. In addition, the new-generation A4 features several premium tech, along with its well-balanced sportiness.
Starting with the front fascia, one might think that this is just a minor update. However, the new A4 does get a redesigned bumper and hood. Ever present is the signature Singleframe grill, which is then flanked by the LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs).
Towards the rear, the four-door bears more prominent changes. These include the new taillights and the slightly tweaked rear bumper.
Inside, the cabin gets an array of new trim options and is now fitted with Audi's new MMI infotainment system that is channeled through a 7-inch multimedia display. It also has a touchpad on top of the rotary control and intelligent free-text search function.
Also present is Audi's new 12.3-inch instrument cluster which can display the gauges (in a variety of sizes), navigation and other infotainment details in between the tachometer and speedometer.
Below it is the automatic climate control system that frees up space and clutter with its soft-touch sensitive context submenus.
Driving the new A4 is a 2.0-liter TDI inline-four. The engine puts out 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque. It is then mated to a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox that spins the front wheels. 0 – 100 km/h comes in at 8.7 seconds while top speed is rated at 220 km/h.
Other technologies present in the 2016 A4 are the new five-link rear suspension system and a newly-developed power steering system.
Safety features, on the other hand, include: dual front and side SRS airbags, full curtain airbags, park assist with park aid plus and flat tire indicator and more.
The 1.4-liter TFSI and 2.0-liter TFSI models of the new A4 will arrive at a later date.
