Chevrolet has revealed the 2016 Camaro Convertible with a fully automatic top that can open or close at speeds up to 48 km/h.
Like the Camaro coupe, Chevrolet says the convertible has a stiffer and lighter structure that reduces the vehicle's weight by at least 91kg as compared to the previous model. The 2016 Camaro Convertible is fitted with an electro-hydraulic power roof system that features multilayer construction in order to dampen road noise.
Chevrolet adds that the convertible has acoustic and thermal barriers as well as a hard tonneau cover which automatically covers the folded top.
The 2016 Camaro convertible will make use of the same engine lineup featured in the coupe version. With this, the vehicle is powered by three engines which includes: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo with 279 PS and 400 Nm of torque, 3.6-liter direct injection V6 with modular displacement that delivers 340 PS and 385 Nm and a 6.2-liter V8 that generates 461 PS and 617 Nm.
Chevrolet says the all-new Camaro convertible will arrive in early 2016.
