The tenth-generation Civic will indeed be available with a turbocharged engine after Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) confirmed the available engines for the new-generation compact.
With a 1.5-liter displacement, the turbocharged inline-four will deliver 172 PS along with 220 Nm of torque. Like the US market, it will exclusively be mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology.
There will also be a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter inline-four though it's unclear whether this will be a carry over engine from the outgoing model.
The interior of the Philippine-spec 2016 Honda Civic should be more or less the same as the one we saw at the 2015 SEMA Show and the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. It features a more futuristic design consistent with Honda's current design language.
Apart from the confirmed engine lineup, HCPI also stated that the 2016 Civic will be the second nameplate to be available with the ‘Road Sailing’ (RS) design after the Mobilio. This will give the Civic a unique and more aggressive exterior according to HCPI. The new sporty Civic will be fitted with Signature LED Headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights, and LED Tail Lamps.
Already eager to get your hands on the new Civic? HCPI also announced that all authorized dealerships are now accepting reservations of the upcoming compact.
Both the 1.8 E and RS Turbo variants will be available in the following colors: Cosmic Blue Metallic, Midnight Burgundy Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic and Rallye Red.
