2016 Land Cruiser 200 revealed with bolder exterior and added safety tech
Toyota has revealed the 2016 Land Cruiser 200 Series in Japan.
According to the Japanese company, the design concept of the 2016 Land Cruiser 200 Series was “functional beauty.” Compared to its predecessor, the Land Cruiser 200 gets a new face as seen on the restyled grill, new headlights, larger bumper and revamped fog light housing.
Toyota says the rear profile of the vehicle projects a sense of unity, width and stability. It has dark-red LED taillights and an extended chrome garnish. The 2016 Land Cruiser 200 Series also gets a new bumper and an upper tailgate panel.
Inside, the 2016 Land Cruiser 200 Series features a two-tone interior theme with silver accents. It also has a 4.2-inch TFT color LCD screen, semi aniline leather seat covers and soft padding materials.
In terms of safety, the 2016 Land Cruiser 200 Series comes with pre-collision system, radar cruise control, lane departure alert, automatic high beam and blind spot monitor. The vehicle also has a panoramic monitor which can help assess safety conditions all around the vehicle. Furthermore, the 2016 Land Cruiser 200 features an under floor view which allows the driver to check the positioning of tires and safety conditions under the vehicle.
The 2016 Land Cruiser 200 Series is powered either by a 4.5-liter twin-turbo diesel engine that delivers 272 PS and 650 Nm of torque or a 4.6-liter V8 petrol that delivers 308PS and 439 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to an electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission.
