Grand Prix International PLC officially announced the 38^th Bangkok International Motor Show under the theme “Reach to the Planet of Technology” slated for March 27 to April 9, 2017 at the Challenger Hall of the Impact Exhibition Center. This years show aims to stimulate the Thai automotive industry, a major proponent of the national economy generating no less than 40 billion Baht worth of business transactions from opening day until closing.

Organizing Committee Chairman Dr. Prachin Eamlumnow says this year's theme “ aims to convey the unstoppable development of the automotive technology and innovation”.

“On behalf of the Organizer, we are confident in the uniqueness of Bangkok Motor Show. In addition to the exhibition of advance automobiles, it also creates an even livelier atmosphere for Thai auto market. Consumers are being offered an opportunity to make a decision from a wide variety of products in just one event. This is therefore the entire automotive industry is promoted and stimulated not just during the show alone but also after the show ended as well,” said Dr. Prachin.

With an auto industry sales forecast of 810,000 units and a 3.5% GDP growth revealed by the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Prachin expressed confidence in the resurgence of the Thai economy and the automotive industry for 2017.

Participating in this year's event are 30 automotive and 12 motorcycle brands which will make 10 model debuts such as the BMW 5 Series, Honda CR-V, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe, Porsche Panamera 4S, and Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge. Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota have also revealed that will be showing off concept cars at this year's show.

“The Bangkok Motor Show is the first car event of each year that dubbed to be an index indicating how lively Thai automotive industry is. For this reason, car and motorcycle makers are willing to take up the space inside the exhibition hall and invest a huge amount of money to construct and decorate their booths as the venue to present their latest products at this world-class show,” said Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, the Executive Comitee / COO of Grand Prix PLC and the Vice Chairman of the show.

Organizers are expecting to attract more visitors to this year's event due to the new model launches and concept cars on display. Auto and motorcycle makers will get to show off cutting edge technologies to showgoers during the 14-day event. They are also expecting guests to be amazed by the display pavilions and daily performances of the exhibitors where some have invested amounts of up to 100 million Baht.

The 38^th Bangkok International Motor Show will be open to the public from March 29 to April 9, 2017 at Challenger Halls 1-3 of the Impact Exhibition Center in Muang Thong Thani.
