While it retains the distinct shape, the front fascia has been redeisgned and a gets a fresh set of headlights and foglights. The signature front split-grill has been carried-over however.
Further down, the side-window mounted door handles for the rear passengers has been retained as well which gives the 5-door hatch a 3-door look. The rear was redesigned as well as it gets new curved taillights and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
Powering the upcoming 2017 Spark is a new 1.4-liter EcoTec inline-four that is rated at 99 PS. It will then be mated to a continuously variable tranmission (CVT). There are no reports yet if a manual gearbox will be offered.
