The workers at the newly-opened Jeep factory in Goiano, Pernambuco, Brazil were treated to an early reveal of Jeep's latest product, the 2017 Compass. Billed as a global compact SUV, the 2017 Compass can be specified with 17 powertrain choices and will be available in more than 100 countries globally.
On looks alone, Jeep's new global SUV appears to blend Grand Cherokee aesthetics, with Renegade-like styling cues. It gets the distinct front grill, squared-off wheel arches and a high-riding setup.
Inside, the Compass is equipped with a compact three-spoke steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment, dual-pod gauge cluster with a multi-information display and what looks to be an automatic climate control system. All in all, it appears the Compass will have a more car-like interior compared to the Renegade and Wrangler.
Exact powertrain options have not yet been revealed though based on one of the images, the Compass will be available with a Multijet engine. The aforementioned motor is the brand's series of turbo-diesels that come in various displacements.
More details of the upcoming Jeep Compass will be revealed at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.
