The Mitsubishi Outlander has just received an update over in Malaysia after the automaker launched the refreshed crossover for the 2017 model year. According to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the crossover gets subtle exterior and interior upgrades to keep it contemporary in the segment.
While the exterior profile relatively remains the same, the 2017 Outlander now comes with a sunroof with anti-pinch safety feature and a new shark fin antenna. Available colors for the updated Outlander remain the same, however and includes: Red Metallic (shown here), White Pearl and Gray Metallic).
It is inside the 2017 Outlander where Mitsubishi poured over much of the technical updates. For starters, the traditional parking brake lever has been replaced with an electronic parking brake (EPB). Leather upholstery now come as standard, as well as cabin floor illumination for easier ingress.
Joining the new add-ons are the standard features which are comprised of the following: engine start/stop button, keyless entry, leather seats with heater function, dual-zone auto climate control, cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Driving the 2017 Outlander is the familiar 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with MIVEC. It puts out 167 PS at 6000 rpm along with 222 Nm of torque. It is then mated to an INVECS-III CVT which drives all four wheels.
