Six months have passed since the global debut of the updated Corolla and now, Toyota Motor Philippines has has brought in the latest version of the perennial C-Segment sedan. It boasts of the new “Keen Look” design language, as well as a host of standard safety equipment.
The “Keen Look” design philosophy can be seen with its new front fascia. The redesigned front end gives the 2017 Corolla Altis a wider, bolder look with vertical air intakes at the corners of the bumper. Its headlights meanwhile are new, incorporating daytime running lights. Also new is the grill, replacing the old three-bar design with a slimmer, single bar unit. Completing the exterior revisions are the tweaked LED taillights, chrome garnish on the trunk and the slightly revamped rear bumper.
Trim levels for the 2017 Corolla Altis are the same as the present model with 1.6 E M/T, 1.6 G M/T, 1.6 G CVT, 1.6 V CVT and 2.0 V CVT.

This model also ushers in a new interior color, Flaxen. Automatic climate control is standard on for G models and above while V variants gain a touchscreen infotainment system. All 1.6 liter models get fabric seats while the top of the line 2.0 V CVT seats are upgraded to leather. On top of the leather trim, the range-topper also comes with an 8-way power adjust seat for the driver.
All engines and transmissions have also been carried over. The standard 1.6 liter, Dual VVT-i unit produces 122 PS and 154 Nm of torque. Moving to the top-spec model, it is powered by a 2.0 liter, Dual VVT-i engine with AICS. The result is an output 145 PS and 187 Nm of torque. The base 1.6 E uses a 6-speed manual transmission while the rest of the line gets a continuously variable transmission with 7-speed mode.
