Toyota Motor Company recently revealed the 2017 Prius c which now has a sportier styling and added safety technology.

Starting with the exterior, the sportier Prius c gets a redesigned front end along with a new rear bumper. It is also now equipped with a blacked-out rear bumper. The side skirts were also revised while headlights and taillights remain unchanged.

Completing the exterior revision are stylish new 15-inch alloy wheels that will be available in all variants. Available exterior colors for the Prius c are Tangerine Splash Pearl, Blue Streak Metallic and Absolutely Red.

On the other hand, the Prius c Four can be specified with the optional 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in P195/50R16 tires.

Inside, the compact hybrid features the same sporty look as the exterior with its piano black, chrome and soft-touch upgraded accents. It is also now equipped with two-tone fabric-trimmed seats. Driver's seats are adjustable in six ways, while rear seats can be split folded down. Toyota also said that it has better rear legroom and a luggage capacity of 484 liters.

Under the hood, it is powered by the familiar 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 74 PS and 111 Nm of torque. Combined with the hybrid system, it produces a total output of 100 PS.

In addition, Toyota Safety Sense C (TSS-C) driver technologies, which serves as the driver's guide, now comes as standard on all model grades. Previously available as an option, The TSSC-system offers Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Assist, Automatic High Beams and Pre-Collision System.

The automaker also offers three drive modes for the Prius c such as normal mode for everyday driving, ECO mode for reducing overall energy consumption and EV mode for allowing the car to be driven purely by electric power.

Other safety features include nine airbags and, features the standard Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and Smart Stop technology.
