Concept-based compact MPVs Roomy and Tank go official
Toyota Motor Corporation has recently revealed two new compact minivans namely, Roomy and Tank, which are both based on the 1LD-CAR concept that combines spacious interior and efficient driving performance.
The manufacturer claims that the new cars are the representation of new compact minivans specifically made for families with small children, including customers with wide-ranging lifestyles.
The Toyota Roomy and Tank boast a spacious interior, at the same time retains an easy-to-maneuver compact size. Both sides of the minivans also feature a one-touch power electric sliding door for easy entry and exit. It also features few seat mechanisms to support a variety of uses.
Other amenities include large assist grips with child grips, 4.2-inch TFT color multi-information display, and four cameras mounted to the front and rear sides of vehicle for a panoramic view.
Both cars are powered by a newly-developed 1.0-liter inline three-cylinder turbo engine producing 67 PS at 6,000 rpm and 91 Nm at 4,800 rpm for the 1KR-FE. The 1KR-VET, on the other hand, produces an output of 72 PS at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm.
There will be three newly-developed body colors available for the two cars such as Laser Blue Crystal Shine, Imperial Gold Crystal Metallic, and Brilliant Copper Crystal Mica. In addition, 14 color lineup with nine body colors and five two-tone colors are also made available for custom coloring exclusively.
The new compact minivans will be available in Japan through Toyota, Toyota Corolla, Toyopet, and Netz dealers.
