Audi Philippines introduces smallest crossover offering, the all-new Q2
Audi's latest premium crossover offering has arrived in the Philippines. PGA Cars Inc., the official distributor of Audi cars in the country, recently launched the all-new 2018 Q2. First revealed during the 2016 Geneva International Auto Show, the Q2 serves as the smallest model in Audi's SUV. The German automaker says their latest crossover is specifically built for urban every day driving and recreation.
“Audi is venturing into a new market segment with the new Audi Q2, bringing top technologies into the smallest member of its Q family. Whether it is used for an off-road adventure or for everyday driving in the city, the Q2 is the all-around vehicle, with youthful and provocative design and high-tech equipment,” said Benedicto Coyiuto, head of Audi Philippines.
Starting with the exterior, the Q2 features the signature Singleframe grill that is flanked by sweeping LED headlights that come with LED daytime running lights (DRLs). It also has a floating roofline design, as well as clean character lines that can be seen on all four doors. Wheel choices available for the all-new Q2 include multi-spoke 17-inch alloys and the bigger five-spoke 18-inch alloys. Found at the back are the eye-catching LED taillights with dynamic turn signals, chrome-plated exhaust tip and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
Inside, the Q2 features a driver-focused dashboard that is spruced up by soft-touch materials and metal trim pieces. Depending on the model chosen, the Q2 can come with the brand's virtual cockpit. Apart from displaying the speedometer and rev counter, it can also display points of interests, navigation and other multimedia functions.
Equipped as standard is the 5.8-inch Multi Media Interface screen. The infotainment system can be manipulated via the center console-mounted rotary/push-button controls. Other features that are present inside the Q2 include: navigation, Audi connect with car phone, mobile phone interface, Audi sound system, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, leather upholstery for the three-spoke steering wheel and seats, and paddle shifters.
Driving the 2018 Q2 is a three-cylinder, 1.0-liter TFSI with direct injection. It puts out 116 PS between 5000 – 5500 rpm along with 200 Nm of torque at 2000 – 3500 rpm. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. According to Audi, it can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 10 seconds and reach a top speed of 197 km/h.
Safety features that come as standard on the Q2 include: anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake, cruise control and a host of airbags.
Available color options for the 2018 Audi Q2 are: Coral Orange, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Quantum Gray, Tango Red and Vegas Yellow.
Pricing of the 2018 Audi Q2 starts at PhP 2.7 million. There are also two variants to choose from, namely Design and S-Line.
