Chevrolet celebrates 100 years of trucking with special edition Colorado
Chevrolet is celebrating 100 years of making trucks and has recently released a special edition pickup for the momentous ocassion. Officially making its Philippine debut is the 2018 Colorado Centennial Edition.
According to The Covenant Car Company Inc, the official distributor of Chevrolet cars in the country, the Centennial Edition is imbued with the company's truck engineering histsory and comes with exclusive features.
Starting with the pickup's exterior, the Centennial Edition gets heritage bow-tie emblems on the front and rear that come with a dark finish. Also present are the '100-year' Chevrolet badges that are placed on the front doors. Chevy claimed that the badges are inspired by the colors and design cues found in early trucks.
Other features present in the special edition Colorado include the matte-finished fender flares, the 18-inch alloy wheels, sports bar and side steps all finished in black, a bedliner and black graphics on hood.
Like the top-spec LTZ Colorado, the Centennial Edition also comes with the following amenities; MyLink 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, reverse camera with front / rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, cruise control and leather upholstery.
Under the hood is the familiar 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel. It benefits from a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) which allows it to generate 200 PS at 3800 rpm along with 500 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. It is then mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with four-wheel drive mode.
Safety features that are standard equipment in the Centennial Edition of the Colorado include: anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, panic brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, roll over mitigation, trailer sway control and dual front airbags.
It also comes with remote engine start, electro-chromatic rearview mirror, lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Centennial Edition will be available in limited numbers and will only come in one color, Summit White. It will be officially available in Chevrolet showrooms come November 30, 2017 and will retail for Php 1,848,888.
The special edition Colorado will also be available for viewing at the 2017 Chevrolet Motorama at SM Megamall from November 30 to December 6.
