First batch of 2018 Honda CR-V turbo-diesel models have arrived
The long wait is over. Prospective buyers that plan on getting the all-new CR-V with turbo-diesel power rejoice, as Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) recently announced that the first batch of diesel-powered models have officially arrived in the country.
Launched last August 2017, the new-generation CR-V marks the first time HCPI will offer a diesel-powered model in the Philippines. Aside from that, the 2018 CR-V is now available with seven seats as well (gasoline-powered models only come with five seats). With it, the all-new crossover joins the ranks of Honda's growing lineup of seven-seaters which include the Mobilio and BR-V.
Customer deliveries of the all-new Honda CR-V will begin in September 2017. Available colors for the CR-V are as follows: Crystal Black Pearl, Dark Olive Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Passion Red Pearl and White Orchid Pearl (+ PhP 20,000).
In review, the 2018 Honda CR-V will be available with two powertrain options. Powering the entry-level model is a 2.0-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine that is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It puts out 154 PS at 6500 rpm and 189 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm.
Driving most of the range is the new 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbo-diesel that is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Benefiting from a variable geometry turbo, variable valve timing and Earth Dreams technology, the turbo-diesel produces 120 PS at 4000 rpm along with 300 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.
