Honda Cars Philippines releases official details for 2018 Jazz

Honda Cars Philippines continues their onslaught of new and revised models this year. Following the price leak from last week, the automaker officially debuted the 2018 Honda Jazz. It now sports a new look, adds a new top of the line variant and an upgraded infotainment system.

Identifying the updated model from the current one are a set of new bumpers for the front and rear. At the front, it gets redesigned front air intake while the triangular fog light housings make way for trapezoidal-shaped units. The rear bumper meanwhile gets a slight tweak which ditch the triangular faux air outlets for a slimmer piece of trim which now runs the width of the car. In the entry-level 1.5 V CVT and 1.5 VX Navi CVT, these variants get LED daytime running lights, as well well as newly designed alloy wheels.

This revamp also brings in the RS Navi model which gives the Jazz a sportier front and rear treatment and now serves as the top of the line variant of the range. Further separating the RS from the other models is a bigger tailgate spoiler, gloss black treatment on the wheels and side mirror caps and a pair of more aggressive side skirts. RS badging can then be seen on the grill and tailgate. Along with those changes, the Phoenix Orange color option is exclusive to the new range-topper.

Honda added more standard kit in the Jazz. The entertainment system in the 1.5 V gets an upgrade by replacing the 2-DIN stereo with a seven-inch touchscreen display system. Along with that, the entry-level Jazz gains steering wheel mounted audio controls. Power folding side mirrors are also standard for the 1.5 V. Move up to the 1.5 VX Navi and it now gets a Navigation System, Multi-View Reverse Camera with Guidelines, Voice Command, Miracast and Cube User Interface (UI) and HDMI Connectivity. Also new to the Jazz VX Navi are speed sensing door locks and cruise control.

These features can also be seen in the RS Navi but comes with a more enhanced audio system, thanks in part to the pair of tweeters at the front. The RS Navi also comes with a special interior treatment. A different seat fabric design, three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob are all finished in orange stitching.

As for safety equipment, these have all been carried over from the current Jazz with vehicle stability assist and hill start assist coming standard in the VX Navi and RS Navi with the latter also coming with side airbags and side curtain airbags. The 1.5 V meanwhile comes with anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, as safety airbags.

All 2018 Honda Jazz models are powered by the familiar 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine which is also seen in the City and Mobilio. Power ratings are unchanged with output is rated at 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque while transmission choices remain to be a five-speed manual (for the base model) or a continuously variable transmission. VX Navi and RS Navi models come with paddle shifters.
