The local seven-seat, B-segment crossover market is about to welcome its newest contender. Mitsubishi has officially opened the reservation books for the Xpander. That means you can expect it to be launched within a few months.

Starting today, January 24, 2018 until April 30, 2018, MMPC will start accepting reservations for the said crossover. For those interested, they may visit the special Xpander webpage at There, they must register to access the page and fill-out the pre-order form. A reservation fee of Php 10,000 must be paid to a Mitsubishi Motors dealership to complete the pre-order.


If the reservation dates are any indication, we might just see the Xpander in the metal sometime in March or April. For now, however, one can only speculate about its debut date.

With that in mind, MMPC has also announced the prices for the Xpander, as well as its variants. There will be four grades to choose from and it starts with the GLX, which is equipped with a five-speed manual. Second in line is the GLX Premium and serves as the entry-level, automatic transmission equipped offering. Up next, the GLS which is most likely to come more equipment than the GLX models and topping the Xpander range is the GLS Sport.

All these variants are powered by a 1.5-liter MIVEC engine. Power is rated at 105 PS while its torque is at 141 Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels and can be specified with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

While Mitsubishi has yet to give full details of each variant, they have mentioned that It will come equipped with Hill Start Assist (HSA), and perhaps more crucially, Active Stability Control (ASC). Besides that the safety equipment, MMPC has also announced the crossover's indicative price tag, which is stated below.
