2018 Nissan GT-R is now (slightly) more affordable in the Philippines

Nissan's fabled GT-R gets a price cut for the 2018 model

For many JDM enthusiasts, there is a plethora of go-fast, look-good cars in the Philippine market. From converted RHD vehicles to legitimately shipped units (read: Type R), there are always good options for those with deep passions, and deeper pockets still.

And then there is Nissan. And their GT-R. And the price cut that their official dealership just announced for their latest iteration of "Godzilla".

For the 2018 model, Nissan Philippines saw fit to slash the GT-R's price to make it slightly affordable for enthusiasts (and maybe the masses alike). From its previous SRP of Php 7.350M, the 2018 model has just been tagged at Php 6.675M. That's a whopping Php 675,000 difference! Very likely brought about by the tax reform program. Although this only applies to the Premium and not the 2018 Nismo 3.8 V6 variant, this is welcome news nonetheless.

Albeit powered by the same base V6 engine, it is no slouch as it pushes out 570 PS and 637 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, and running with Nissan's ATTESA E-TS All-Wheel Drive, the 2018 GT-R is still built and meant to perform. Other premium and standard equipment include 20-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels, Nissan-Brembo braking system, Bilstein Damptronic suspension system, and a titanium exhaust system that round up the performance end of the list.

In-cabin entertainment is covered by way of a Bose audio system with 11 speakers and dual subwoofers. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) add to the enjoyment while occupants sit on leather appointed seats with synthetic suede inserts.
