All-new Peugeot Traveller makes Philippine debut
Peugeot Philippines capped 2017 with the launch of three new crossovers, namely the updated 2008, the all-new 3008 and 5008. To kick off 2018, the company has added yet another offering to the range in the form of the Traveller van. This all-new van effectively replaced the Expert Tepee.
The French automaker dubs the Traveller as their entry in the 'VIP Shuttle' sector, meaning it goes up against the likes of the Toyota Alphard and Mercedes-Benz V-Class. It rides on what the brand calls the EMP2 platform and it shares its architecture with the European-spec Toyota Proace and Citroen Jumpy. For the Philippines, there will only be one variant available.
Peugeot's van is now in line with the marque's current design language. At the front are the now signature upright grill and upswept headlights. Complementing these are the integrated daytime running lights (DRLs), featuring Peugeot's light signature. The sides on the other hand sees flared wheel arches, and streamlined character lines on the lower section of the doors are seen. The rear, on the other hand, gets vertical taillights and a protruding rear bumper.
There are a pair of motorized sliding doors to aid in entry and exit for added convenience. Inside, there are seats for seven and all rows of seating have adjustable pitches, which helps in expanding legroom. Travellers come equipped with modular seating configurations, allowing the seats to slide and swivel. Second and third rows can be arranged to face each other as well, creating a lounge set-up complete with captain seats and a retractable sliding table. Charging ports are present in all three rows of seats plus tri-zone climate control keeps everyone cool inside.
Powering the Philippine-spec Peugeot Traveller is a 2.0-liter, BlueHDI turbo-diesel engine. Power is rated at 150 PS and 370 Nm of torque. It then shifts via a six-speed automatic with its rotary-dial gear selector.
The 2018 Peugeot Traveller starts at Php 3,390,000.
