The 2018 Porsche Cayenne finally has a reveal date. Following numerous spy shots of the 2018 Cayenne, more recently with barely any camouflage, Porsche will be unveiling their new premium SUV on August 29, 2017. A special ceremony will be held at the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen factory, and will be broadcast online via live stream for everyone to view.

To pique people's interest in the Porsche's all-new premium SUV, the Stuttgart based manufacturer has released a sketch previewing the third-generation Cayenne. From the sketch, we see that the overall design of the Cayenne has been changed compared to the outgoing model. It now looks sleeker, slightly larger and better proportioned, which can be confirmed by our spy photos. Furthermore, the sketch shows us a sloping roofline, which seems to be inspired from the Macan.

Underneath, the third-generation Cayenne rides on the same platform as the Audi Q7 and the upcoming Volkswagen Touraeg; making the Cayenne lighter than previous and more technologically advanced. Powering the 2018 Cayenne is said to be a V6 and V8 turbo gasoline engines. The range topper Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid will likely use the same powerplant as the Panamaera of the same variant. Diesel engine options are expected to be delayed, with this model likely to be the last offering the diesel.

2018 Porsche Cayenne set for August 29 online debut

Prior to the announcement of its global debut, Porsche sent the Cayenne to the most extreme of conditions to undergo testing all over the world. All of the prototypes and pre-production vehicles managed to complete a total of 4.4 million test kilometers. The test was made to accurately simulate real-life conditions wherein the 2018 Cayenne would under go, from the intense heat conditions of Dubai to minus 45 degree Celcius cold weather in Alaska. In fact, it was even tested on racetracks such as the Nurburgring.
