Late last year, Suzuki surprised the motoring public when they officially revealed the all-new Swift. It now has a more aggressive exterior, a sportier cabin and a new turbocharged 1.0-liter engine option. All in all, Suzuki's latest B-segment offering is looking to be a promising little five-door.

Now, Suzuki plans on shaking up the B-segment hot hatch after releasing the first image of the next-gen Swift Sport. Set to be revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Suzuki said that the upcoming hot hatch gets a complete redesign and 'will deliver an all-new level of excitement for sport minded driving drivers'.

Based on the image provided, the Swift Sport will have a unique, honeycomb-like front grill. Also present is what appears to be a chin spoiler and model-specific foglight bezels. Topping it all off are the five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires.

Other details about the all-new Swift Sport remain a mystery. However, AutoCar UK reported that the next-gen hot hatch could come with a turbocharged four-cylinder. Supposedly, the new Swift Sport will get the 1.4-liter Boosterjet engine (140 PS with 220 Nm) from the Vitara S crossover. If this is to be believed, then the naturally aspirated 1.6-liter (136 PS with 160 Nm) may soon bid farewell in the wake of downsized turbo engines.

In addition, Suzuki is also planning to make the Swift Sport lighter than before. Apparently, the automaker is eyeing to drop the weight below 1,000 kg. This works in tandem with the new Heartect platform which is also seeing use in regular versions of the all-new Swift. Compared to the old platform, it will be lighter and more rigid.

The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show will run from September 14 – 24.
