All-new Suzuki Vitara to arrive in the country next month
An all-new crossover will be arriving in the country soon. Suzuki Philippines Inc (SPI) is set to reveal the 2018 Vitara next month which will succeed the outgoing Grand Vitara. The all-new crossover will serve as the fourth-generation model and comes with a sleek design inside and out, along with new powertrain options.
Unlike its predecessors which used a body-on-frame construction, the all-new Vitara now has a unibody (monocoque) construction, hence its crossover pedigree. In terms of style, the 2018 Vitara features a swooping front end that is dominated by sharp headlights, two-bar chrome grill and distinct front bumper.
The rear, on the other hand, gets hexagon-shaped taillights that flank the rear quarter panels and tailgate. The spare tire carrier has been omitted while the tailgate now opens upwards. Rounding up the exterior décor are the five-spoke alloy wheels, sloped D-pillar and the flared wheel arches with black plastic body cladding.
It's not yet known what type of engines will be offered in the PH-spec Vitara though international models are available with either gasoline or turbo-diesel power. Called the M16A and D16AA, both engines produce 120 PS but have different torque figures. The former puts out 156 Nm of torque while the latter generates 320 Nm of torque. Available transmissions include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.
Expect more details of the 2018 Suzuki Vitara to be revealed soon.
