Following a long teaser campaign and multiple spy photos, Audi has finally revealed the 2019 A1 Sportback. Compared to its predecessor, the second-generation A1 takes a more aggressive styling. In fact, Audi says it draws styling cues from the Ur-Quattro and the Sport Quattro – infamous for their rally heritage. It comes with a more sloping roof that is finished in black to further accentuate its sporty styling.

In front, the bumper now has larger air intake styled similar to that of the Audi RS5. There also sits a larger Singleframe grill, flanked by new LED headlights. At the rear, there is a flatter C-pillar with a larger wing fitted atop. It also comes with a sportier rear bumper with side vents and new LED taillights. Completing the exterior makeover are new wheels available in 15-, 16- or 17-inch sizes depending on the trim.

Though it does seem like the A1 has gone to the gym, Audi says it is 'the ideal companion in the urban environment'. Despite that, it has still grown over its predcessor. It now measures in at 4,030m long, 1,740mm wide, and 1,410mm high. This is said to give it a wide track and short overhangs to help give it a sportier look.
