Audi loads the TT with new features, more aggressive style

After releasing a set of teaser photos earlier this week, Audi has officially pulled the covers off the 2019 TT Coupe and Roadster. Compared to the pre-facelift model, its kind of hard to spot the difference on this new model without keen eyes or you being a dedicated Audi follower. The changes aren't only external however, as the running gear has also been upgraded combined with more standard features.

Starting with the TTS (main photo), the styling changes from the pre-facelift model TTS are more obvious compared that of the standard TT. The front fascia now packs a more aggressive styling similar to that of the current-generation R8. There's a new blackened grill insert. The air intakes have also been revised and now has large silver airscoops fitted which merge with the new lower chin and splitter.

At the rear, the changes are more subtle. The TTS will have a pair of large air vents located below the taillights. There is also a more promiment rear diffuser with the same silver accents to match the front splitter coupled with new exhaust tips. Rounding up the exterior makeover are the new set of 18-inch wheels fitted on the TTS. The rest of the rear bumper appears to have been carried over.

The same changes on the TTS can be found on the standard TT Coupe and Roadster. The only difference would be the standard TT does not have the silver bits: air intake scoop, splitter and diffuser. Furthermore, the TT comes standard with 17-inc wheels. Optional 19- and 20-inch wheels are available combined with three new colors: Turbo Blue, Pulse Orange and Cosmos Blue.

Audi did not disclose exact engine details but mentioned that the TT can be had with either a 197 PS engine in the 40 TFSI spec or a 245 PS in 45 TFSI. Both these engines are said to have more power compared to its predecessors. Meanwhile, the TTS get a new 2.0-liter engine ith 306 PS. The TT engines can be had with a 6-speed manual or a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The TTS is available only with a S-Tronic.

Inside, the interior has mostly been carried over from the pre-facelift model. Buyers can now order the 2019 TT with the optional sports display and contrast colored stitching. Standard features now include Audi drive select dynamic handling, heated mirrors, light and rain sensors, and the Audi virtual cockpit.

Deliveries of the 2019 Audi TT in Europe is expected to begin in the fourth-quarter of 2018.
