2019 Dodge Charger Hellcat gets sinister-looking facelift

AUTO NEWS

Here's your first look at the meaner Dodge Charger Hellcat

Last week, Dodge SRT officially released the first images of the sinister-looking 2019 Challenger Hellcat. Crowned with a retro-inspired hood that comes with massive air intakes, the soon-to-be released Challenger Hellcat is poised to pay homage to the classic '60s and '70s muscle cars of yesteryear.

But what if you prefer your American Muscle with four doors instead of two? Fret not as Dodge SRT is also working on the 2019 Charger Hellcat. In fact, they have just recently released the first teaser photo of the mighty four-door.

What's new on the 2019 Charger Hellcat? For starters, it gets a revised front end courtesy of a new air intake. Like the Challenger from last week, Dodge SRT gave the Charger a new 'nostril' which will supposedly suck more air in for the supercharger. While we only see one side of the front end receiving the new intake, it's highly likely that the other side of the Charger Hellcat will also get the large 'nostril' upgrade.

Also receiving a revision is the front grill as it no longer dons a mesh design. Instead, it now has a honeycomb-like finish that is painted gloss black. Other changes that the Charger Hellcat might receive include a new hood, restyled headlights and maybe more aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers.

The supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 will also reportedly get a bump in power, among other things. From 707 PS, it is rumored that the upgraded Hellcat will crank out 725 PS and could get 'Demon'-derived technologies like the Air-Chiller, TransBrake and wide Nitto tires as such.

More info about the refreshed Challenger and Charger Hellcats will be revealed in the coming months.
