Ford Ranger Raptor officially launched in the Philippines
Last year, Ford Philippines confirmed that the highly anticipated Ranger Raptor will be making its way to the country sometime in 2018. Now, the time has come. After making its debut in earlier this year in Thailand, Ford Philippines officially welcomes the 2019 Ranger Raptor into the country with a price of Php 1,898,000.
For those wondering, the Ranger Raptor is more than just a standard Ranger pickup fitted with more goodies. In fact, the high-performance pickup was redesigned in order for it to deserve the famed performance badge. Both the front and rear fenders have been widened and the ride height increased to accommodate the larger 17-inch wheels and chunky BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. In front, the Ranger Raptor takes on a bolder look with a larger grill, new headlights, and a more aggressive looking bumper. The interior has also been updated with a new look as well as Raptor badging all around.
Underneath all the bodywork, the suspension and powertrain have also been upgraded in the Ranger Raptor. The biggest change to the suspension would be at the rear which now uses coil springs instead of the standard leaf-spring setup. Fox Racing dampers on all four corners help improve ride comfort on the road as well as its off-road capability.
At the heart of the Ranger Raptor is the new 2.0-liter bi-turbo EcoBlue twin-turbo engine which produces 213 PS and 500 Nm mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also gets a new Terrain Management System.
With the Ford Ranger Raptor now here in our market, expect to see more of the high-performance pickup hitting the trails and the roads around us soon.
