After making its debut at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, the refreshed 2019 Hyundai Tucson has finally made its way to Philippine shores. Quietly revealed at the Hyundai Power Solutions Business Mobility Expo, it features an all new styling but continues to retain the familiar engine choices we have become familiar with.

Facelift Hyundai Tucson

So what’s new on the refreshed Tucson? For starters, there is a redesigned exterior which gives the crossover an updated style. The 2019 model now features Hyundai’s signature cascading grill, which is flanked by a pair of sharper looking projector headlights with new L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The front bumper has been restyled as well together with the fog lights and lower air intake vents.

The rear also undergoes cosmetic changes. There are new, rounder taillights and a restyled bumper with the reflectors relocated to a higher position. Wheels are also new such as the 18-inch wheels fitted on the model seen here.

Facelift Hyundai Tucson

Inside, there are more noticeable changes to the 2019 Tucson. The dashboard now features a new center stack fitted with a large infotainment system and new central air-con vents. The air-conditioning controls seem to have been retained however. Depending on thge variant however, there may be some features lacking such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, on lower models.

 Facelift Hyundai Tucson

No official details have yet to be released regarding the Tucson’s powertrain, but it is likely to have been carried over fromthe previous model. The Tucson on display is powered by a 2.0-liter CRDI diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, similar to the previous model.  Looking at the price list however, it shows that there is still a 2.0-liter gasoline option; likely the same engine from the pre-facelift model as well.

Currently, both the current-gen and pre-facelift models are still being offered by Hyundai Philippines based on the price list we received.
