Faster, stronger Porsche Cayenne Hybrid makes 700 Nm of torque

Prefer a more eco-friendly Cayenne? Look no further as the Stuttgart-based automaker recently revealed the all-new 2019 Cayenne Hybrid. More powerful than the previous Cayenne S-E Hybrid, the newer model produces more power, has quicker acceleration, a higher top speed, and improved range.

Propelling the 2019 Cayenne Hybrid is a 3.0-liter turbo V6 that produces 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque. It is then helped along by an electric motor that generates 134 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The result is a combined system output of 462 PS at 5250 – 6400 rpm and a healthy 700 Nm of pulling power available from 1000 – 3750 rpm. The powertrain is then hooked up to an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox and active all-wheel drive system.

Compared to the previous generation, the all-new Cayenne Hybrid cranks out 46 PS and 110 Nm more. This allows the SUV to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in five seconds before reaching a top speed of 253 km/h. As for maximum range, Porsche claimed that the 2019 Cayenne Hybrid can travel up to 441 km in hybrid mode. In addition, the hybrid is also capable of reaching speeds of up to 135 km/h when in E-Power (electric mode) and a range of up to 44 km.

This was made possible thanks to a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack. Unlike the previous model which only has a capacity of 10.8 kWh, the new battery can store 14.8 kWh, a 30% increase over the older one. Recharging the batteries can be done in two ways: a 230V 3.6 kW plug-in that can fully recharge the battery in 7.8 hours and a more powerful 230V 7.2 kW on-board charger that can recharge it in 2.3 hours.

Over to features and amenities, the Cayenne Hybrid is available with the following: adaptive cruise control, massaging seats, heads-up display, Sport Chrono Package, Off Road Package, heated windshield and massive 22-inch wheels.

Other Porsche-specific features that can be specified in the Cayenne Hybrid include Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).

As for the car's exterior design, it gets the same aesthetics as the standard model. Subtle differences such as the Acid Green brake calipers, Acid Green needles on the gauges and matching outlines around the badges make the Cayenne Hybrid stand out from the rest.
