In their latest announcement, Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc. has decided to give Subaru's performance sedans a slew of updates for 2019. For the newest models, both the WRX and the STI now have a longer list of top-class safety tech and driver-centric features.
For both the the WRX and STI, a new Harman Kardon audio system will do the work of keeping their occupants informed, entertained, and connected. Featuring an 8-inch high resolution display, it comes equipped with Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and Bluetooth pairing via NFC. Incorporated into the display is a front grill camera which aims to increase front visibility at intersections and when parking facing a wall.
As safety technology goes, the WRX 2.0 CVT is now be equipped with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as standard. This safety feature will alert the driver of any potential hazards so that actions may be taken to avoid untoward incidents. An electronic parking brake and Auto Vehicle Hold have been added to reduce driver fatigue as well. With the latter, brakes are engaged even after the driver's foot is taken off the pedal and will automatically disengage upon acceleration.
For the WRX STI 2.5 M/T, refreshed trims and full-leather front seats with lumbar support have been applied to the interior. Another addition is the inlusion of a sunroof. Balancing out what is more recognized as a rally-bred sedan, it aims to allow natural and fresh air to enter the cabin and add comfort to long drives. The large rear spoiler, Brembo brakes, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with STI center caps round up the additions to this model.
