If there's one thing the Suzuki Ertiga is known for besides being one of Suzuki Philippine's (SPH) best-selling models, is its beige interior. As it is the only compact MPV in the market to have such a finish, it has since become a trademark look of the seven-seater.
However, not all prefer having the lighter shade of trim inside the Ertiga. Most, if not all owners, are concerned that having a beige-colored cabin means it is more susceptible to becoming dirty. With that in mind, SPH has released a new variant of the Ertiga to address that problem.
Say hello to the 2019 Ertiga Black Edition. It's the same MPV we all know but comes with a dark-colored cabin. That's right, all of the beige-colored trim have been replaced with black. These include the seats, steering wheel, door trim, dashboard, as well as the center console.
“We are thankful for and inspired by the warm response we are getting for the all-new Ertiga since we launched it last month. Our commitment to provide only high-quality, fuel-efficient vehicles that Filipinos can rely on was our motivation to upgrade the Ertiga. It is this same passion that we are introducing this upgraded variant so we can meet the needs and preferences of those who want this particular model,” said Keiichi Suzuki, SPH Director and Automobile Divison General Manager.
Despite its name however, the blacked-out elements stay inside the cabin. That means the exterior of the Black Edition Ertiga remains the same and is still available in the following colors: Metallic Magma Gray, Metallic Silky Silver, Pearl Burgundy Red, Pearl Glorious Brown, Pearl Radiant Red, Pearl Snow White, and Prime Cool Black.
Like the rest of the range, the Black Edition still comes with a 1.5-liter K15B inline-four that makes 103 PS and 138 Nm of torque. Power is then shifted via a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmissions.
The new Ertiga Black Edition is available in two variants and is priced accordingly:
1.5L GA M/T – Php 738,000
1.5L GLX A/T – Php 988,000
