2019 Toyota RAV4 arrives in PH, prices start at Php 1.638M

Things are heating up in the compact crossover market with Toyota Motor Philippines officially launching the all-new 2019 RAV4.

Taking inspiration from the FT-AC crossover concept, the new RAV4 has received an aggressive makeover. It gets a bold front fascia that is dominated by a huge front grill, tapered headlights, and a sporty front bumper. Giving the RAV4 its rugged charm, on the other hand, are new massive alloy wheels, along with squared wheel arches with black body cladding. Topping it all off are the restyled taillights and slightly tweaked rear bumper.

As for its size, the 2019 RAV4 measures 4600mm long, 1855mm wide and 1685mm tall. It also has a generous 2690mm  wheelbase and a ground clearance of 176mm. Depending on the variant, the 2019 RAV4 can come with either 17-inch or 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

Pop the doors open and you are greeted to a heavily redesigned cabin. The sweeping dashboard from before is gone. In its place is a more rugged and upright design that is complemented by sharp angles and straight lines. Sitting proudly at the center is a new floating touchscreen system that supports AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, Aux, as well as smartphone mirrorlink for Android and iOS.

Other available amenties in the RAV4 are: dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function, cruise control, leather upholstery, wireless phone charging, keyless entry with smart entry, and a panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood, the 2019 RAV4 is powered by a new 2.5-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine that is mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission. Power output is rated at 203 PS at 6600 rpm along with 243 Nm of torque at 4000 - 5000 rpm. All models of the 2019 RAV4 are now 4x2 only as the all-wheel drive model has been discontinued for the local market.

In terms of safety, all variants of the new RAV4 come with the following: anti-lock brakes, stability control, hill-start assist, trailer sway control, alarm with immobilzer, and seven airbags. Available only in high-grade models are front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera.

Available exterior body colors for the 2019 RAV4 are the following: Attitude Black Mica, Cyan Metallic, Dark Blue Mica, Gray Metallic, Red Mica, Silver Metallic, Super White II, and Urban Khaki.

White Pearl versions can be ordered for an additional Php 15,000.
