Maxus Philippines has officially joined the pick-up truck segment. After a lengthy teaser campaign, the 2020 Maxus T60 is now available in the Philippine market. Available in 4x2 and 4x4 variants, the T60 is set to go up against the likes of the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, Mitsubishi Strada, and the Toyota Hilux.
Starting with its exterior, the T60 gets a bold front grill and is complemented by a distinct set of automatic headlights. High-grade models come with LED daytime running lights along with LED projectors (lesser variants only come with halogen projectors). Muscular wheel arches, huge alloy wheels, along with a pair of stepboards are also available on Maxus’ midsize pick-up truck. Front and rear foglights and rain-sensing wipers complete the exterior amenities on the 2020 T60.
Size-wise, the T60 measures 5365mm long, 1900mm wide, and 1809mm tall. It also has a generous 3155mm wheelbase, and a water wading depth of 800mm. Regardless of variant, the T60 has a towing capacity of 2500 kg. In addition, the T60 can carry over 1,000 kg worth of payload.
Inside, the T60 gets a straightforward dashboard that features a touchscreen infotainment system. Depending on the variant, the T60 can come with either fabric or leather-wrapped seats, as well as automatic climate control or manual air-conditioning with rear vents.
Other available amenities in the T60 include Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay with MirrorLink, engine start/stop button, a power-adjustable driver's seat (4x4 A/T only), and a multi-function steering wheel with cruise control available across the range.
Under the hood, the T60 is powered by a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel that is good for 150 PS at 3400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque at 1600 - 2800 rpm. Depending on the variant, the T60 can come with either a six-speed manual gearbox, or a six-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of safety, the new T60 comes with the following as standard: anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, dual front airbags, reverse camera with parking sensors, rear ISOFIX anchors for child seats, and an engine immobilizer. Available only on the top-spec 4x4 are electronic stability program (ESP), and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
"The T60 pickup is Maxus Philippines’ third model launch after the successful introduction of the G10 9-seater MPV and the V80 passenger and cargo vans in 2019. The addition of the T60 pickup to the Maxus Philippines’ roster of light commercial vehicles strengthens our foothold on the LCV category, as we now have a line-up of LCVs for business and lifestyle requirements: for transporting people, cargo, or a combination of both in any road condition," said Reginald See, General Manager of Maxus Philippines.
The 2020 Maxus T60's price range begins at less than PhP 950,000 thanks to a special introductory price. The T60 is also covered by a 5-year / 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first, and a periodic maintenance service (PMS) interval schedule of the first 5,000 km and every 15,000 km or once a year.
