Hot on the heels of the launch of the all-new B-Class and GLE, Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of the Mercedes-Benz in the country, have expanded their lineup once more with the all-new CLA.
First debuting in the US back in January of this year, the 2020 CLA gets an evolutionary makeover, a sportier-looking interior, upgraded infotainment system, and a new turbocharged engine under the hood.
Beginning with the most obvious change, the all-new CLA gets a more front fascia. A new front grill gives the four-door a classier appearance while the eye-catching headlights give the sedan an unmistakable look. It also stayed true to its coupe-like design, retaining the signature long hood, short deck profile as before.
Design changes were also applied to the rear of the CLA courtesy of a new set of taillights at the back. Both the front and rear bumpers receive subtle revisions as well in order for a more aerodynamic design.
Pop the doors open and those familiar with the A-Class will find the CLA's interior inviting. Featuring an avant-garde style look, it has aircraft-inspired aircon vents, splashes of metal accents, heaps of piano black trim, as well as leather upholstery.
Serving as the car's onboard infotainment system is the high-tech MBUX system. First made available on the all-new A-Class, it replaces the old COMAND system and comes with wireless connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, as well as hand gesture control.
But perhaps its most important feature is intelligent voice control which can be activated by saying “Hey Mercedes”. With it, drivers can ask the system to check the weather, look for places to eat, find the nearest gas station, adjust the car's settings accordingly, as well as look up local news.
There’s only one variant for now and it’s the CLA 180. That model is powered by a boosted 1.3-liter, four-cylinder engine. It puts out 136 PS along with 200 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
