Mercedes-Benz Philippines appears to be busy expanding its lineup. Apart from the all-new Mercedes-AMG A 35 and CLA 35 that they quietly revealed last week, Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz and AMG cars in the country, has also revealed the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S 560.
Sporting a refreshed look, the updated flagship luxury sedan gets a subtle facelift while still carrying lots of toys and extras for the rear passengers. Beginning with its exterior, the S 560 gets a new front grill design that features a cascading finish. There are now also new vertical slats present on the lower air intake and more chrome that give the luxury sedan a more opulent look. Unique alloy wheel design rounds up the exterior revisions available on the 2020 Mercedes-Maybach S 560.
While the exterior received noticeable changes, things relatively remain the same inside the luxury flagship sedan. From the digital instrument panel, infotainment system, LED ambient lighting, neat touches of wood trim all around, and leather upholstery, the S 560 appears to be a cozy place to be in.
Other available creature comforts present inside the S 560 include an automatic panoramic sunroof, Burmester surround sound system, folding tables for the rear, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging for smartphones, velour floor mats, and rear privacy blinds.
Perhaps the best seats on the Mercedes-Maybach can be found at the back. Immediately greeting the rear passengers is the generous legroom thanks to the vehicle's longer wheelbase. While it can seat three at the back, the S 560 is best enjoyed with just two seats. This allows the center backrest to serve as a center armrest for the two passengers seated at the back, as well as a center console that can control the many toys the sedan has to offer.
There are a total of three packages available on the S 560 that put emphasis on delivering the ultimate in rear-seat luxury. There's the Chauffeur Package which is comprised of power-adjustable rear backrests and headrests, and a memory feature for the rear seats. Rear Comfort Package, on the other hand, delivers multi-contour rear seats, as well as heated/ventilated rear seats. Finally, there's the Rear Seat Entertainment Package provides the passengers with two 10-inch multimedia displays, two wireless headsets, remote control for the infotainment system, as well as two USB ports and Aux ports.
Only one engine option is available for the 2020 S 560. Under the hood of the Mercedes-Maybach is a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8. It generates 469 PS along with a massive 700 Nm of torque that's available from 2000 – 4000 rpm. A nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission serves as the sole gearbox option for the 2020 S 560.
Looking to get a Mercedes-Maybach for yourself? Well, just like the AMG models revealed last week, prices are available but only if you are indeed serious in actually acquiring one. Expect its price to be more than the most expensive S-Class available.
