It took some time, but after nearly a year it was announced for the Philippine market, the all-new Land Rover Defender 90 Series has officially arrived in the country.

Like the larger 110 Series, the 90 Series offers the same amount of 4x4 capability and tech, but with two fewer doors and more compact packaging. It offers 226mm of ground clearance, a maximum water wading depth of 850mm, huge 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in off-road tires, and a fully independent suspension system.

Under the hood, the 90 Series is powered by a 2.0-liter, twin-turbo diesel inline-four called the D240. It makes 240 PS at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque at 1400 – 3750 rpm. Power is then sent to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a full-time 4WD system. In addition, the Defender also comes with selectable terrain modes, as well as a twin-speed transfer box (low and high) for when the going gets tough.

Don't have a spotter while going off-road? Fret not as the Defender 90 comes with Land Rover's ClearSight Ground View technology. This allows drivers to see areas usually hidden by the hood, directly ahead of the front wheels.

Other than that, the Defender 90 also comes with a 10-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, as well as navigation. Other onboard features available inside the Defender 90 include 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a full-leather interior, a 6-speaker sound system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Customers that wish to personalize their Defender 90 can choose from four distinct accessory packs: Urban, Country, Adventure, and Explorer.

The Urban Pack equips the Defender with bright metal pedals, a rear scuff plate, and a front skid plate. Meanwhile, Country gives the Defender wheel arch protection, front and rear mud flaps, a portable rinse system, and a full-size cargo partition at the back. The Adventure Pack has similar equipment from the Country but gets additional features like a built-in compressor, side-mounted gear carrier, and a seat backpack.

Last but not least is the Explorer Pack (pictured above) which comes with all of the features from the other variants. However, this particular model comes with near extras like a matte black hood decal, raised air intake, a roof rack, and a step ladder for easy access to the roof.
