In a press release, Audi Philippines has just announced that the RS Q8 has arrived at their showrooms. It is the latest addition to the company's range of high performance Audi Sport models together with the new RS 3 Sedan 4-door and the RS 6 Avant wagon.

The RS Q8 is based on the Q8, one of Audi's largest SUVs together with the Q7. Audi Sport enhanced the vehicle with a different look with the singleframe RS-specific grille, side air inlets, and other trim pieces. There are wide quattro blisters on the wheel arches for the wider track of the RS Q8's 23-inch sport alloy wheels. An RS spoiler, rear skirt, and diffuser clip enhance the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

The major upgrades in the RS Q8 over the standard Q8 is the 4.0-liter twin-turbo TFSI V8 engine. It produces 600 horsepower and a whopping 800 Nm of torque. An 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission sends drive to all four wheels via an Audi Sport-enhanced intelligent quattro all-wheel drive system.

Audi Sport also made many upgrades to the suspension such as an RS adaptive air suspension system which allows for a wider variety of settings and modes depending on the driver's preference. The RS Q8 also comes with an all-wheel steering system and RS ceramic brakes to match the performance of the TFSI engine. Finally, an RS sport exhaust system gives this performance version of the Q8 an exhaust note to match.

The Audi Sport upgrades that make up the RS Q8 enabled it to attack the Nurburgring in Germany and achieve a lap time of 7 minutes and 42 seconds; the fastest for any production SUV at the time.

Audi generally doesn't release pricing of these top tier models for a variety of reasons, chief of which is the sensitivity to foreign exchange rates at the time of ordering. Interested customers may visit Audi's showrooms in the Philippines to inquire about the pricing of the new high performance luxury SUV from Audi Sport.
