When Toyota Motor Philippines launched the Hilux Conquest a few years ago, it was undoubtedly the best-looking variant of the 2018 Hilux models. Not only was it available with unique blue paint, but the Conquest was the only variant to feature the updated LED headlights and bumpers.

We did, however, have one gripe with the pickup’s design: the big “CONQUEST” sticker on the tailgate. Simply put, it looks tacky, and we’re not alone with that thought. Some Hilux Conquest trucks you’ll find on the streets have the tailgate sticker replaced with a cleaner “TOYOTA” sticker. Others have even opted to just remove the sticker altogether.

Fortunately, the 2021 Hilux Conquest set to debut this September 12 won’t have that sticker anymore.

According to our sources, the 2021 Hilux Conquest will have a sticker on the side of the pickup bed instead of on the tailgate. Unfortunately, we weren’t told or shown what the new Conquest sticker will look like. But having it on the side is a lot less, umm, obnoxious. For those that want a cleaner look on their pickup without the sticker, they can still choose to remove it, anyway.

Apart from the sticker, the 2021 Hilux Conquest will look very much like the Hilux Revo Rocco sold in Thailand. For starters, it will feature a more aggressive front end with black trim on the grille extending to the bumper. It also has a different set of fog lights with housings integrated into the front over fenders. Meanwhile, LED headlights and taillights come standard along with new 18-inch wheels.

Inside, the 2021 Hilux Conquest gets upgrades too. While the dashboard remains unchanged, there is a new 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto paired with a redesigned gauge cluster. The seats are supposedly lined with new material as well. Other features include a clearance sonar, downhill assist control, and trailer sway control.

The 2021 Hilux Conquest will be available in 4x4 or 4x2 configurations and come with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The more powerful 2.8-liter turbo diesel that produces 204 PS and 500 Nm torque will be available on the 4x4 Hilux Conquest variants. It is uncertain whether the 4x2 models will receive this engine as well.

Per our previous article regarding 2021 Hilux prices, the 4x4 Conquest A/T starts at PHP 1,830,000 and the manual version retails for PHP 1,755,000. The Conquest 4x2 models start at PHP 1,380,000 for the manual and PHP 1,455,000 for the automatic.
