After Tiggo 7 Pro, Chery PH to launch Tiggo 2 Pro

2021 may be coming to a close, but Chery Auto Philippines wants to end the year with a bang.

After launching the Tiggo 7 Pro earlier this year, Chery is set to debut the 2022 Tiggo 2 Pro. So what can we expect from Chery once they officially take the covers off the updated crossover? Let’s take a quick look at what the China-spec model has in store.

For starters, the crossover will feature Chery’s latest design language. Perhaps getting the most noticeable change is its front fascia, now dominated by a bold front grille similar to the Tiggo 7 Pro’s design. It also gets a two-tier headlight design with the top section housing the LED daytime running lights (DRLs), while the bottom portion gets the headlights and foglights.

While not as apparent, the rear of the Tiggo 2 Pro also gets some minor changes. These include smoked taillights, a rear bumper with faux dual exhaust finishers, and what appears to be a central rear foglight/reflector. Rounding up the exterior changes on the Tiggo 2 Pro are the stylish five-spoke alloy wheels.

Besides the exterior, the interior of the Tiggo 2 Pro will also get some neat updates. Gone are the unique gauges on the instrument panel as the refreshed model will come with traditional round clusters. Meanwhile, the steering wheel now gets a flat-bottom design which gives it a sportier look and feel.

The design of the aircon vents has been changed too, with the central units now featuring a thinner opening. Meanwhile, the corner vents are no longer circular and now adopt a rectangular-like shape. Other key changes that could make their way to the PH-spec Tiggo 2 Pro include a new touchscreen infotainment system, a redesigned climate control panel and gear selector, an electronic parking brake, and updated trim and accents.

Under the hood, the 2022 Tiggo 2 Pro will likely use the same 1.5-liter, naturally-aspirated inline-four. Power could still be rated at 106 PS along with 135 Nm of torque. Like the engine, the transmission options might be carried over as well; a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual gearbox.
