Nissan Kicks e-Power output to go up from 129 to 136 PS

Nissan Philippines kicked off the 2022 Manila International Auto Show by previewing its e-Power electrified drive technology using the Kicks crossover.

And while we're still waiting for the hybrid crossover's launch for the Philippine market, the Thailand-spec Kicks has been given a power boost for the 2022 model year.

Nissan Motor Thailand is preparing to launch the updated Kicks e-Power this May. And as mentioned, it's going to have a more powerful e-Power unit. The electric motor's maximum power output has been increased from 129 to 136 PS, and the maximum torque is up from 260 to 280 Nm.

Furthermore, the Kicks gets an increased battery capacity from 1.57 to 2.06 kWh, which means the crossover could store more juice. In terms of looks, however, the 2022 Kicks e-Power will retain the same interior and exterior features.

This means, if ever Nissan Philippines would source out its Kicks e-Power units from Thailand, then we're highly likely to get the more powerful version. And on top of that, the hybrid crossover will also be competitively priced because of the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement and tax breaks for hybrids.

Now that we have the 8th Philippine International Motor Show confirmed this year, would Nissan Philippines finally launch the Kicks e-Power there? Let's wait and see by around September, then.
