We already know Toyota Motor Philippines is gearing up for the launch of the new 300 Series Land Cruiser. According to our contacts, retail sales are expected to begin in October 2021. It was surprising for us since it usually takes longer between the world premiere and the Philippine launch.
But it seems the October timeline is accurate. Photos of three all-new Toyota Land Cruiser models loaded onto a car carrier were taken by netizen Ef Labajo who spotted the car carrier along Batangas City Diversion Road. According to Labajo vehicles were heading to the Toyota Vehicle Logistics Center in Batangas City.
From the looks of it, all three models are in the new high-end ZX trim, which will effectively succeed the VX Premium. All of the units sighted are fitted with the “aero look” bumpers and kit together with the larger 20-inch wheels. While we’re not surprised two of the units are painted in Precious White Pearl, it’s nice to see the other one is in black. Although not clearly shown in the photos, the ZX will come with a sunroof as well.
Other details you can expect from the Land Cruiser ZX and the new entry-level VX include a new 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel engine with 309 PS and 700 Nm torque and Toyota Safety Sense. You can compare the differences in spec between the upcoming LC 300 and the current LC 200 better from our feature here.
With the new Land Cruiser 300 expected to go on sale in October and units already in the country, the official launch could happen next month, assuming everything goes according to plan (ECQ or other quarantine measures don’t delay it). Given the long queue for the new LC at Toyota dealerships across the country, we won’t be surprised if the units on this trailer are already sold.
